We invite you to join us in a beautiful event - Applied Folk Art Fair. It is a tradition that once in a year artisans from all over Latvia come together at Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia to show their fantastic works. It will take place on 4th and 5th of June. The opening hours will be from 10 – 17. We hope to see you there!

We are happy to announce that we are back in the city! From now on you can find us in our new address - Akas iela 2 (see on the map). While there was a short silence in our shop in Riga, our workroom in Sigulda wasn’t in silence at all! We have created fantastic wooden toys and new games as well! We hope to see you soon!

Wooden Frog in Christmas and New Year

In this lovely Christmas time Wooden Frog waits for guests not only in the shops on Lāčplēša street and in Sigulda, shopping centre Chocolate, but also in the annual Christmas market in Dome square and in Christmas shop in Berga Bazārs. We would love to see you there! Besides Dome square has a very beautiful Christmas tree! And some hot spicy wine in the lovely market atmosphere – such a nice thing to enjoy!

We also have made a new wooden decoration – cute little cat - the symbol of 2011!

Starting from December 11 in our shop on Lāčplēša street there is an opportunity to see a wonderful exhibition of drawings and paintings by artist Luīze Zuzanna Kalnroze! We would love to see you there!

Reportage from The Saturday of hand made toys and accessories in “Koka varde”

For the very first time in Koka Varde - The Saturday of hand made toys and accessories!

We are celebrating the autumn and we invite you to join us too! Mothers and fathers with your offsprings, you are welcome to visit us on 13th November starting from 12:00. You will have the possibility to see a very nice exibition of hand made toys in a look of dolls and a great variety of little cute animals created by our local artsists. Here are some of their names – Sintija Tilgale, Sintija Strode, Sarmīte Meiere, Liene Ulmane, Kristīne Krastiņa-Indāne, Aija Vīdnere. And here it is the right moment to tell you, that we will be greeting two new inhabitants - red fox and smart goose who will join other wooden animals in our shop.

Also you will be welcomed to try out our very nice earrings, broaches, and other exclusive accessories made by Ieva Zaļkalne, Dana Zēberga, Lāsma Bringina, Aija Vīdnere, Agrita Baumane and others!

We are happy that our friend Aiga will be with us as well, as she is someone who knows many interesting games, that she will teach to the children! Also we are planning some delicious surprises!

The event will take place in our gift shop Koka Varde which is located on Lāčplēša street 30 on 13th November, starting from 12:00 till the very last guest (18:00).

Summer greetings to everyone!

Here are some of our shop novelties: lovely animals a child can cut out from paper, wooden sticks with numbers, wooden blocks of the same shape, wooden baby buggy for dolls. We also have a very cute new rattle for little ones – sheep for sweet dreams.
Also we have some very suitable things for midsummer fest presents and other notable occasions! AND we invite you to visit the traditional midsummer market in Dom square on 22nd June from 9 till 17!

Few lovely novelties in our shop in March 2010!

Valentine’s day is already next week and longing for spring becomes stronger as well. Therefore we wanted to remind you that we have so many nice things you can give to your loved ones. And hearts of course – we have them from wood and some other materials. Come and check! You can also order wooden hearts with names and important dates for weddings or other occasions in our shop. Cool, isn’t it!

Wintery greetings to everyone! We would like to remind that we have a lot of cute things in our shop apart from our own wooden toys: nice dolls and puppets from fabric, lovely hand made bijouterie, original notebooks etc. Oh, and we have a puzzle called Thinker! It is made in Latvia from wood and it is very good for training your brain. Great present!

In the very last weeks of 2009 we have managed to make another new decoration – a wooden tiger to welcome 2010!

Just a short note before Christmas and New Year’s eve.

We have some very nice decorations for your home and christams tree in our shop - different kind of lovely wooden things and sewed decorations from fabric, also wintery looking articles from plexiglass. Seems like snow is in the air …

From 4 till 8 November 2009 SIA "Wooden frog" (our company, which produces wooden toys) has participated in Spirit of Christmas Fair in London. This mission was supported by LIAA (Investment and Development Agency of Latvia).

Autumn 2009 brings us some nice new toys: two lovely doodads for little babies - bear and tiger, a patron of 2010, and also two playthings, which are very good for children development starting from 3 years of age - practice shoe and practice button. In "Wooden frog" you will find something new for adults as well - a massager for neck, head and face. Very useful and relaxing after a long and stressful day!

We have guests in "Wooden frog" till 10th October 2009 - traveling exhibition „Kuš 99% hand work”!
You will see different nice things made from wool by Aija Vīdnere and also lovely photographs by Sintija Šlēgele. And Aija's bears - you will fall in love with them!
